First of all I have got to say that Emma and I have been some of the most lucky privateers racing bikes. We have been fortunate enough to meet some of the most awesome people in the bike and related industries. People like Dave Verrecchia from Vanderkitten and Mike Ahrens from Ahrens Bikes have been essential in making our team a success. Their enthusiasm rivals our own! Not to mention they have been introducing our little team all around town to get more sponsors. Thanks guys!
So Mike Ahrens has been hard at work getting things done at his day job and providing for his family, and still he manages to find time to design the Ahrens bikes frames for Emma and I. I think it was only one day after it was official that Mike sent us the spanking new drawings of our frames for us to drool over while we waited for them to be built. I’m still drooling, but the frames should be here by the end of November. Mike has designed some sweet custom steel frames for us using a special blend of tubing hand picked for the best ride quality, durability, and weight. While working with his suppliers he has been trying to get whatever cost he can cut for our poor little college kid race team. That’s where the awesome connection at Paragon Machine Works comes in. These guys didn’t just cut the cost for Mike and the team they completely donated disc dropouts and bottom bracket shells! Wow! Our complete gratitude goes out to the people over at Paragon Machine Works in Richmond. Check out their website at www.paragonmachineworks.com.
Ahh… Look at those sexy dropouts!
