Team Lost Coast Brewery is proud to announce the addition of a new racer for the 2009 season, 22 year old Matt Wittler. Matt is currently going to school at Southern Oregon University in Ashland and has been a part of the Nor Cal mountain bike racing scene since he was in school. Learn more about him in his own words:

Mountain biking for me started during baseball season when I was 13. Our shortstop told me about this bike he’d just got for his birthday. We began riding together and that next year joined our high schools mountain bike team. I began to move up through the ranks and my last year captured a varsity state championship win. After high school I stayed with the bike team as an assistant coach for a few years and team mechanic, keeping their wheels turning, and their gears shifting. In 2008 my priorities shifted back to my own racing career. I began the season with a few goals scrawled on a sticky note on my bathroom mirror; and ended the season with 5 sticky notes with all of the goals accomplished. I am now finishing my last year with Tour of Nevada City bike shop where I have been for the past four years, and am getting ready to move to Oregon for school. In 2009 I look forward to racing with Lost Coast Brewery, and going to school at SOU where I plan on completing my bachelors in Business/Physics in spring of 2011.
